Day Two

More packing done today and got some good news in regards to puppy traveling with us. KLM allows dogs up to 6 1/2 KL (dog + pet carrier weight) to travel on board under the seat in front of us. The person I talked to recommended this as the dog will be with its owners and it is less stressful. She says though the dog is in a climate controlled compartment in the baggage, no one checks on the dog during the eight hour flight. So tomorrow we are off the get a pet carrier with the measurements 50/30/30.

In the excitement of learning all this I forgot to ask her if we could get a seat for Bowie. Expensive but well worth it!

Here is the link to the dog carrier I am looking at.

End of day

Got lots done today. A lot of clothes packed up except for what we need, all pictures off the living room wall packed, books sorted out, and on and on. Johan got a lot cleaned up in his room as well. Lots of garbage thrown out and two full bags of clothes ready to go to the Salvation Army. Hate to admit it, but some of the clothes going, I have never worn. :(

I am hoping for a good nights sleep as the last two night have been sleepless. And on to another day tomorrow. First thing on the agenda is for Johan to pick up some more boxes....

And so it begins

Wed Jul 22, 6:50 AM
After getting a mail from the Immigration Service, a few bottles of wine and a good night sleep, today we'll start cleaning, sending mails to end subscriptions of magazines, political parties and what not, and getting used to the idea of moving to Canada.
In about 2 weeks we expect the finalizing papers being send to us, so fingers crossed....

Johan.
